ANNOUNCEMENT: Change of Club Venue

Unfortunately the ongoing cost of the hall is not being covered by attendance the meetings, so we have decided to move venues.  Starting tomorrow, the club will meet at 37 Southgate Road.

This venue is smaller, but can still hold 2-3 tables, 4 at a stretch, and allows us to waive the attendance fee entirely. 

So to sum up, the club now meets at 37 Southgate Road, Island Bay, and there is no fee to attend - so please do come along.

No club meeting on Monday 16 October

Unfortunately there was a break in at the hall last week and the  locks have been changed as a result.  We don't have a new key yet and none of the organisers are able to get the key before tomorrows meeting, so we will need to postpone this weeks meeting.

We'll sort things out to get back underway next week.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The First War Incorporated Mini-Con

In October the War Incorporated club will be running a special event - a one-off, single day, three round Warhammer 40k 1750 point tournament.

Currently set for Saturday October 15th, more details will be available soon.

In the mean time, come along tomorrow night for more details, and to get your game on!

Come and warm yourself by the blazing boltguns

Just a reminder to everyone that we're open tonight, and will have the heater blazing along with the bolt guns.  Allistair and I will be playing mission 1 from the Imperial Armour 8 book tonight - Allistair's stalwart Elisian Drop Troops will storm the trash piles of Kastorel Novem to battle Buzzgobs Dreadheadz, let by Buzzgob himself and packed to the limit with dreads, kans and the Mega-Dread!

New pictures and some house rules now up

A few shots from last week are now up on the pictures page, and a House Rules and Etiquette page has been added.

Last week was our biggest yet, with six tables full of war games goodness.   It was great to see everyone, hopefully you all make it back this week.  We can fit in another two tables if needed, so there is still plenty of room.


Also, a reminder, there is no meeting on the 25th of July - so get along this Monday, as it will be a two week break til the next meeting!

Get a game in tonight - pretend the thunder is the sound of your artillery!

It's going to be wet and wild tonight, so come along to the hall and warm yourself with the glow of meltas and fireballs.  We'll kick off at 6:30pm as usual.

Please note - the hall is booked for a theatre production on July 25th, so there will be no meeting that night.  To be extra clear:  There will be no meeting on July 25th.

Clearly we finished a bit early.  Early enough for me to have a bit of time to get the pictures from the meeting up - check out the pictures page for more war gaming goodness.

It's raining, what a great excuse to stay indoors and play war games

We'll be opening up at 6:30pm tonight as per usual.  We'll have chips and sodas available for a $2 donation to the club - all proceeds go towards game boards, terrain and fabulous prizes (to be distributed once we get some mini tournaments, one-off events, and a league in place).  So please come with some change, and a crisp $10 note for the entry.

A few updates have been made - the standard size for Warhammer Fantasy Battle armies is now 2400 points - so dust off that lord, wake his dragon and get him battle ready.

Theres a few new photos on the pictures page as well - go have a look - I have no one to blame for the photo quality but myself.  This coming meeting I'll be bringing a better camera.

Another Monday, another grim struggle for the future of the galaxy/old world

Wow, it's been a week already and it's time for another meeting.  Remember to bring a few things tonight:

1 - Your army
2 - Your army list
3 - Your codex, rulebook and relevant FAQ
4 - Dice, rulers, templates, markers
5 - Terrain
6 - Game cloth or ROB board
7 - $10 for the entry fee
8 - gold coins for the NEW drinks and snacks box

We'll have a few cans of soda and some bags of chips to satisfy any mid-game munchies, so bring along some loose change.  See you tonight!

Launch Successful

All the minis are back in their cases, the realm of battle boards have been stacked up, and the terrain is all packed away.  What a fun night - I hope everyone else enjoyed their games as much as I enjoyed mine.    A couple of pics from the night:

Tonights the Night

We're having our official club launch tonight - I hope I see you there.   Thinks may be a little rough tonight so please bear with us.

Get in early to get a table - it might be a big night

We're getting a fair bit of interest from a few people - a lot more than expected to be honest.  Looks like we have tapped into a deep vein of gaming need...  

So if you are interested in getting a game in on Monday night, I'd suggest you get to the centre right at 6:30. 

If you know you can't make it for 6:30 but are determined to be there and play, email me and I'll hold a table for you.  Be sure to let me know if you are coming with an opponent, or if we will be matching up somebody for you, and what game you will be playing.

Welcome to War Incorporated

Welcome to the new War Incorporated club website. Here you will find club news, including meeting dates and locations, and other useful tidbits.
The War Inc. club plays Monday nights 6:30pm to 10:30pm, Starting June 6th. Entry is $10 per night, however we're offering free entry at the Queen’s Birthday launch!!!
The club meets at Newtown Community Centre Theatre,1 Colombo Street, Newtown.
Bring a 1750pt Warhammer 40k force or a 2250pt Warhammer Fantasy force. (or bring a friend and play whatever you like).
Please bring game cloths or realm of battle boards if possible, and as much terrain as you can.
